Fall 2011

Summer has not been that wonderful in Belgium this year, but we are all looking forward to those splendid end of summer days. Although macroeconomics might include some serious warnings, we believe that it creates at the same time large opportunities and accelerators for Procurement and Supply Chain Management professionals. By looking at your challenges within our fields of expertise we help you to find the optimal solutions and to safeguard your bottom line profit.

Over the last year PROGRESSIO has evolved into a company with 25 dedicated consultants who are mainly active in Belgium. However, we also have reference projects in the Nordics, Eastern Europe, Luxemburg, The Netherlands and even Tanzania.

Recruitment & Competence Development

To be ahead the game, PROGRESSIO invested in the development of a specialized Competence Development Assessment Centre. In collaboration with our partner SHL, we developed a unique way of combining maturity and structuring models in Procurement with competence assessments and group dynamics models.

As trusted business partner - with recruitment agency recognition for Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels - PROGRESSIO is proud to support customers like Willemen Group, Niko, BNP Paribas Fortis, VRT and many others, in their search for talent within Procurement & Logistics.

As Practice Leader Recruitment & Competence Development, May Van Aperen steers the inflow of new talent for our clients. May - Industrial Engineer & MBA - has taken up several Supply Chain Management roles in Belgium and abroad and combines the flavour of the floor, with certifications in HR, such as MBTI Coach & SHL Assessor.

7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Switch(ISBN: 0-7432-6951-9)

Our objective is to move progressively on a maturity continuum from dependence to independence to interdependence. Although independence is the current paradigm of our society, we can accomplish much more by cooperation and specialization. In order to be interdependent, we must first achieve independence. In his book Stephen R. Covey indicates how working on the seven habits below, allows you to grow towards interdependency. Habits 1, 2 & 3 (Be proactive, Begin with the end in mind, Put first things first) deal with self-mastery. They are the private victories required for character growth. Private victories precede public victories.

Habits 4, 5 & 6 are the more personality oriented public victories of Teamwork, Cooperation & Communication. Habit 7 is the habit of Renewal, creating an upward spiral of growth.

Furthermore Stephen R. Covey indicates that effectiveness lies in balancing our Production (P) with building Production Capacity (PC). Organizationally, the PC principle is to always treat your employees as you want them to treat your best customers. We must understand that the best contributions of our employees - their hearts and minds - are as volunteers.

The net effect of reading this book will be revolutionary! A must read for everybody in people management roles. The book is also available on DVD & can be listened to during traffic jams.

And for the true believer: Don't hesitate to read the sequel "The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness" (ISBN: 1-929494-78-5).
