Role purpose

As a Procurement Excellence Lead at Melexis, you will design, review and drive procurement-specific (and/or) companywide, projects and  programs in line with the global procurement strategy. You will be part of the procurement team and will report to the Procurement Director. Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement team and ensuring supplier value in a VUCA world are your main objectives. As such you will contribute to the competitive advantage of Melexis by focusing on balancing the needs of the procurement team and their internal stakeholders and by building in-depth strategic programs with key suppliers. In doing so, you seek to create maximum value for the company and the customer.

Key responsibilities

  • Expand, lead, and master the supply risk management projects and program
  • Drive and master ESG procurement projects and program
  • Initiate cross-category and/or cross-department procurement initiatives that boost the back-to-back supplier performance (SPM) and value (SRM) with a focus on continuous improvement of Delivery and Quality
  • Be the global process owner of the procure-to-pay process and related key-user network and drive continuous improvement in these processes
  • Coach, motivate, and stimulate the further development of the procurement analyst team (located in Sofia Bulgaria) through on-the-job coaching, continuous feedback, and follow-up interviews in order to grow their competencies
  • Focus on the digital transformation of procurement:
    • Create a long-term roadmap
    • Boost digital transformation of Source-to-contract and Procure-to-pay processes: design, validate and implement in close cooperation with your procurement colleagues and internal stakeholders
    • Upgrade KPI dashboards and relevant procurement reporting
    • Maintain and ensure compliance to Procurement policies and procedures
    • Increase data-drivenness of procurement and their sourcing decisions
  • Develop, drive and maintain predictable holistic TCO cost models for direct spend, ensure full spend understanding as well as back-to-back benefit insight
  • Be the procurement liaison, build and maintain relationships with peer departments and suppliers, seek alignment on procurement initiatives, projects and programs
  • Facilitate and structure the internal and external business partnering and represent procurement during audits

Profile

  • A Master degree in in Economics, Commercial Engineering or Engineering or a bachelor degree with experience
  • A relevant Procurement experience of 5-10 years in an international environment is a plus
  • Preferable a procurement project or procurement transformation background
  • Strong project management skills
  • Relationship builder, strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • A continuous learner, energetic and assertive
  • You promote a positive attitude, even in adverse circumstances, and you are able to make sound and objective judgments
  • You are fluent in English
