Technical Airborne Components Industries (TAC) designs and manufactures rods for the aerospace industry. TAC is recognized as the reference source for high quality, custom engineered control, structural and system rods. As one of the leading suppliers in this industry segment TAC today supplies products for almost every commercial aircraft, regional and business jet, helicopter, military and space program. 

The company, based in Milmort (Liège), employs about 200 people. Since September 2021, TAC is par t of Latécoère Group.  Latécoère is a Tier 1 active in all segments of the aeronautics industry (commercial, regional, business and military aircraft) in Aerostructures (fuselage sections and doors) and Interconnection Systems (wiring, electrical furniture and on-board equipment) .  Latécoère Group employs about 4000 people in 13 different countries

Role purpose

The Procurement Director is responsible for defining the procurement policy and strategy and organizing it according to the company’s strategy. He/She is also in charge of defining, executing and monitoring all the purchasing and supply processes for raw materials, packaging products, as well as any other products or services to cover the needs of the company.

In this role, you actively pursue the continuous optimization of costs and risks within the supply chain.

You report to the CEO.

Key responsibilities

Define & Realize Procurement Strategy

  • Develop and implement Procurement Strategy, in close collaboration with CEO and all stakeholders ensuring consistency with company strategy & objectives
  • Communicate with and regularly inform extended management team of which you are a member
  • Collaborate & align with Corporate Procurement Team at Latécoère, where appropriate

Lead & manage Procurement Team

  • You lead the team consisting of 1 Purchasing Manager New Product Introduction, Sourcing Contracting and 2 Purchasing Specialists
  • You deploy KPI’s allowing to monitor performance of the team and Supply Chain
  • You continuously coach, develop, evaluate and train the team

Procurement Product Family Management & Spend Management

  • You are owner of external spend management of company, making sure all spend is under active control
  • You take the lead for strategic product families: sourcing, negotiations, contracting, contract management
  • Define & execute roadmap to lower TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) for these product families
  • Ensure technical and commercial understanding of product family
  • You will actively search for new suppliers on market while maintaining optimal supplier base
  • Maintain good contacts with internal & external stakeholders
  • Continuously monitor trends with allocated product families

Supplier Management

  • Develop supplier intimacy within partnership mindset
  • Continuously Monitor Supplier’s Performance: OTQ, OTD, financial performance to budget
  • Monitor trend in Supplier’s capabilities, investments, technological evolution, financial situation
  • Supporting Procurement Team towards Supply base

Supplier Contract Management

  • Understand and ensure proper execution of contractual terms (contract duration, payment terms, pricing,…)
  • Monitor and manage contractual coverage
  • Communicate with stakeholders of impact of any changes to contracts
  • Continuously evaluate and pro-actively anticipate on contract expiration, phase-in/phase-out processes

Procurement Process Optimization

You are the driver for continuous improvement of procurement process

Budgeting & Monitoring

  • Establish yearly procurement budget for Procurement Department
  • Establish and communicate monthly savings results
  • Achieve Department objectives and as such contribute to realizing company objectives

Risk Management

Proactively identify risks and develop associated risk mitigation plans for supply base

Profile

  • Master degree in a technical or economical field
  • At least 7 years experience as Procurement Manager in international & technical environment
  • At least 3 years proven people management experience in hands-on environment
  • Able to define & deploy and embed procurement strategy & change
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal & communication skills
  • Strategic, analytical, proactive, result oriented & commercial savvy
  • Experienced with ERP systems
  • APICS or CIPS certificate is a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • You are fluent in English and French, other languages are an asset
  • Open to travel 20 % in Europe
  • Sector experience is an asset
