Role purpose

You will support and engage together with the department/businesses to analyse requirements and to allow early involvement of Procurement in 3rd party spend categories, keeping track of current trends and themes in constantly changing market conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • You select suppliers, ask for quotations, and negotiate with these suppliers to obtain the best possible contractual conditions regarding quality, price and delivery time of goods and services
  • You maintain close contact with suppliers to keep abreast of new developments and to build a strong long-term relationship with them
  • You draw up the necessary agreements in consultation with their lawyers
  • You follow up the correct delivery of ordered goods and services together with colleagues from the business
  • You initiate and implement system and process improvements to improve the efficiency of the procurement processes
  • You help strive for an optimal Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by examining how the different cost factors can be influenced and optimized and initiating and managing cost reduction programs with suppliers
  • You work together with other departments within the group in order to make purchases in function of their needs, taking into account the general interests of cost efficiency
  • You are responsible for quality within the department. This means that you make and follow up complaints to suppliers, you are responsible for the evaluation of suppliers, and you are the contact person during audits

Profile

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, engineering or other relevant discipline
  • You are not afraid of files with an ICT component
  • You have a very good knowledge of Dutch, English, French is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP is definitely a big plus
  • You are familiar with MS Office and good in Excel
  • You can set priorities, are a problem solver and you like to plan and organize activities
  • You have strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
  • You are accurate in your record keeping
  • You can work independently but are also a team player
  • But above all you have the drive to realize together with your colleagues the best possible results for their group
